All great ideas originate where you least expect them to (like in bath :P)

Well this may be a little too exaggerated but something like this happened to me. I don't know if the idea is great or not but it definitely clicked like a flash of camera - why not GA? My own poor Genetic Algorithm which got me a half-baked undergrad project and a funding which is my bread and butter now. I can easily model the limited mobility k-coverage problem in M-TSP and solve it using GA. God! That's the fun advisors have and students don't. If I had a student, I would have asked him/her to implement it for me, but now I should model the problem, the solution and implement it myself and only then go to Sriram with a confused expression and some results - may be I can work on it and send it to AINA. Also, I can tweak SC's dissertation a little bit and solve the multiple source- multiple sink- weighted max flow network problem using GA. But Gosh! I don't have no time for it. Who will model my information retrieval in VANET architecture, who will help undergrads implement my location privacy protocol on Dr. Jag's lab hardware, who will study all those estimation techniques (filters) from Dr. Bala's class to mathematically model the adversarial localization attack model, and who will implement my independent research idea of modelling VANET / WSN as C/P system and last but not the least, who will do the stupid SCJP certification???? Man! I'm in love with technical reports. They are so easy to plan for, specially for a PhD candidate like me who's right now overwhelming with ideas. I can sense that the peak of my PhD research is about to arrive, and I will make it big this summer. God! Please please take away all my stupid laziness this summer and make me work all of these outtttt!!!!!
