How many types of technical papers do exist on earth (QUALITATIVE CLASSIFICATION from a graduate student with 21 months' experience in reading papers]

1)                "WOW!!" [great ones - usually the ones I don't understand] 

2)                "NICE" [good ones - usually the ones I partially understand but can prepare a 15 min ppt on one]

3)               "HMMMM"  [mediocre ones - can give an hour's talk on one]

4)               "COUNTER++"  [ones just to increase no. of publication of author(s) (read desperate PhD students just before graduation)- often no. of authors of a paper in this category exceed no. of useful sentences in the paper]

5)               "?????????????" [finally the ones I cannot categorize due to limited whatever from whoever - me or the author(s)]

P.S. there is another category - the one's I write - I have enough ego not to include them in the last two categories and enough honesty not to include them in any other.
