I felt like a phoenix, wings spread wide –
Embracing life with an eagle’s pride.
I felt like a murmur, tender and shy,
Still so worthy that we had to try.
I felt like a fall then, seasoned and red
Though the winter puts all to shred.
I felt like all, that gloom and smile -
Yet another life walking down my aisle.
It came with thrust and shunned my power,
Wiped off all in its fast devour.
Yet I retorted - trembling I stood,
Extorting the little left and came out of the hood.
Still I can live and still I move,
I came out of my ancestral groove.
May be not like a rock, not like a tide,
Not immortality, not close to glide,
Because I’m still alive I feel pride,
I feel like a phoenix, wings spread wide!
