Being alone has taught me a lot about people, more about myself, and a little about life. One of the lesson I preach and intend to exercise is that "Don't expect, don't assume".
We are not all that indispensable in others lives as we think we are. We are just there because we were there, and doesn't mean our not being there actually leaves behind anything but a scar. So, don't expect.
Similarly, don't assume. We don't know what the other person is going through, we don't know if what we think to be true is actually true. We don't know what lies in the future. So, don't assume you know anything - noone knows no shit.
However, we are much more indispensable in the growth and harmony of cosmos though, or atleast so it appears! The universe is so big, and we are so trivial, that the only way of finding significance is to find it within us. Explore the universe inside of you (remember ViswarupaDarshanaYoga from Geeta?)
Finding peace in bigger and greater aspects of life, and within yourself don't transpire as difficult as it sounds.
Or atleast that's still a hope I hold on to...
